KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Since the advent of GPS technology, many
contractors have found on-board location
mapping and other critical
information-technology capabilities an
essential on-site resource. To aid these
intrepid contactors, John Deere has
partnered with QUALCOMM® Incorporated to
develop the most powerful
equipment-management solution available
today.
LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN
The JDLink Machine-Monitoring System is a
wireless communications system designed to
deliver location, utilization, performance,
and maintenance data to contactors. By
employing this state-of-the-art system,
you’ll manage your equipment for optimal
productivity and operating efficiency.
This innovative system is a combination of
factory- or field-installed hardware and
JDLink Web Services. The hardware components
are integrated into the machine’s electrical
system to monitor machine location,
functions, hours, fuel information, alerts,
and other machine date. This information is
then relayed by wireless connection to the
Web application to be used to manage your
fleet. Through a PC with Microsoft® Internet
Explorer 5.0 or better, you can access this
information to make management decisions
24/7.
Log on and instantly access:
Machine status and location
- Summary reports
- Alert logs
- Maintenance logs
THE ANATOMY OF JDLINK
The JDLink System is comprised of a
communications controller, a wiring harness,
and an antenna with both cellular and GPS
functionality. Through the system, you’ll
have access to this essential information:
MACHINE STATUS AND LOCATION
The machine’s operating conditions, location
on a detailed color map, fuel-tank level,
status – off, idling, working, or in transit
– are at your fingertips. What’s more,
JDLink provides maps, complete with zoom,
e-mail, and print capabilities, so timely
pickup and delivery are a snap for your
drivers.
SUMMARY REPORTS
JDLink management reports provide a summary
of each machine’s usage over time. Details
include both productivity and utilization
measurements – hours, speed, and fuel
consumption, for example – and summaries of
various machine-performance features.
ALERT LOGS
Important information on how well a machine
is performing in the field is always
available. All yellow warning and red
stop-engine alerts are compiled in the Alert
Log, along with a short description of each
alert code. As an added precaution, the
JDLink system may alert users and your John
Deere dealer to potential machine-downtime
scenarios. Stop-engine alerts are also
communicated via e-mail notification.
MAINTENANCE LOGS
Your techs can enter maintenance or
repair-work details in the Maintenance Log.
This provides the machine with a documented
pedigree for future reference.
Increase productivity and uptime while
decreasing operating costs with JDLink:
- Reduce cost and increase revenue
- Monitor machine health
- Extend machine life through preventive maintenance
- Simplify maintenance scheduling and documentation
- Reduce downtime through caution or stop alert notification
- Track rental fleet machines’ locations and engine hours
- Recover stolen machines with alerts and superior tracking
- Can be used to monitor both Deere and non-Deere machines
JDLINK TODAY…AND TOMORROW
Powered by industry icon QUALCOMM, the
JDLink Machine-Monitoring System uses
wireless technology to boost uptime and
productivity while keeping daily operating
costs low.
Several enhancements to the standard JDLink
system are slated for 2007:
- JDLink Advanced: All the features of the standard system, plus machine-history data.
- JDLink Ultimate: The benefits of JDLink Advanced, plus all machine-performance data.
- JDink Direct: This system eliminates the need for a wireless connection. All machine-performance data is read via a data port on the machine to your laptop computer.
Call your dealer for information on how to
integrate JDLink data directly into your
business system.
