parts availability. We have defined a list
of those parts you simply must have and
committed ourselves to making them available
at your John Deere dealer-where you need
them, when you need them.
• Parts that have put your machine down, but
that can be installed in two hours or less,
such as hydraulic hoses, starters,
alternators, water pumps, turbochargers,
injectors, relays, solenoids, switches, and
relief valves.
• Parts you need for routine maintenance
such as fluids, filters, lubricants,
adhesives, and batteries.
• Wear parts such as bucket teeth and
cutting edges.
EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES FOR MAXIMUM
RESULTS
No one works harder than your John Deere
dealer to get down machines up and running.
But even the most dedicated and skilled
technician can't work miracles without the
right parts.
That's why the Machine Down Backorder
Escalation Process (MDBEP) was developed. In
an effort to help our customers in emergency
down-time situations, John Deere has
implemented the MDBEP. This process provides
reliable "promise dates" and expedites parts
delivery so you can get back to work ASAP.
The MDBEP empowers the Depot Coordinators by
connecting them with the right people at all
levels within the company to maximize
response time. The process puts them in
contact with the appropriate personnel to do
whatever it takes to get you up and running.
In the past we've gone to extraordinary
measures for our customers, like pulling
parts right off the production assembly line
or borrowing parts from a machine at our
demo site. Whatever it takes.

PARTS DISTRIBUTION
The John Deere Parts Distribution Center,
located in Milan, Illinois, houses more than
310,000 different parts under one 41-acre
roof. The latest in technology enables the
receiving, storing, picking, and shipping
functions to be performed in the most
efficient manner possible, supplying
customers the right part at the right time.
Each day, about 80,000 orders are shipped
from Milan and as many as 450,000 a week.
DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM COMPUTER NETWORK
A sophisticated computer network links John
Deere's North American and European
distribution centers, not only to each
other, but to the 20 regional depots around
the world and to nearly all John Deere
dealers. By linking dealers with the
distribution system, a data-base matches
factory production and parts purchases with
demand.

(Space for 38 football fields).
• 4.5 million gallon lake (provides water
for fire protection).
• One inch of rain on the roof adds
1,000,000 gallons to lake.
